Could We Miss the Extraordinary Because We Expect a Spectacle?
What does “extraordinary” really mean? I see it as something that may look simple at first, yet carries a meaning many people fail to notice. That is why I keep thinking about Jesus as the son of a carpenter, living and working among ordinary people before his ministry. If he passed us today in worn work clothes, carrying wood and covered in sweat, would we recognise him? Or would our expectations of wealth, power, angels and dramatic signs make us overlook him again? I question the religious ideas we accept without reflection, including popular teachings about prosperity, the second coming and who God may choose to send. Perhaps truth can come through people from backgrounds, tribes and faiths we are conditioned to dismiss. My point is simple: do not let status, money, familiarity or religious prejudice blind you. The extraordinary may be hidden in plain sight.
