NIS Sends Passport Team to UK From August 10 to Clear Nigerians’ Backlog

NIS Sends Passport Team to UK From August 10 to Clear Nigerians’ Backlog

The Nigeria Immigration Service will send a Passport Intervention Team to the United Kingdom from August 10, 2026, to help clear pending passport applications for Nigerians in the diaspora. Working with the Nigerian High Commission, the team will process backlogged and new applications. It will also assist applicants renewing passports with less than one year left before expiry. The exercise will extend to selected UK cities. Applicants should prepare completed application forms and proof of payment, but should wait for the High Commission to announce the official venues and dates before travelling. Digital passport services, including contactless applications and home delivery, will remain available during the intervention.
