Lawyer Ajulo Accuses AIG Jimoh of Incompetence, Calls for Independent Ajiran Killings Review

A Lagos lawyer has described AIG Moshood Jimoh as an "incompetent public official" and renewed calls for an independent investigation into the Ajiran Community killings. He issued the statement after various groups released a publication defending the police officer against allegations of mishandling the probe. The lawyer argued that endorsements cannot replace transparent and impartial scrutiny. Ajulo accused the AIG of operating in secrecy, applying rules unevenly and prioritising public relations over performance. He said these practices undermine confidence in the Nigeria Police Force. He urged the Inspector-General of Police to order an independent review of the investigation. According to him, such action would either reinforce the probe's credibility or reveal areas requiring corrective measures.
