DSS Warns Kaduna Man’s Tweet Could Drag Nigeria Into Israel–Iran Style Conflict
On March 11, 2026, the DSS filed a counter-affidavit in the Federal High Court in Kaduna. They opposed bail for Abubakar Adamu, known online as @AbbakarAffan. The agency argued his tweet calling for the elimination of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu risked sparking an international dispute akin to the Israel–Iran conflict. The DSS said the post could have diplomatic and security fallout for Nigeria. An operative, Jones Gabriel, said Adamu admitted the charges when confronted with social media evidence. The DSS noted the offences carry heavy, non-bailable penalties, including life imprisonment. The affidavit added that Adamu has a history of threats, links to foreign actors, and travel to Libya and Egypt. The service insisted he poses a flight risk and a danger to national security if released on bail.
