WAEC Appoints Dr Amos Dangut as Registrar and CEO
The West African Examinations Council has appointed Dr Amos Josiah Dangut as its new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer for a five-year term from October 2026 to September 2031. Dangut, who previously led WAEC’s Nigeria National Office, succeeds Alhaji Pateh Bah of The Gambia. His appointment was ratified at the Council’s 74th Annual Meeting in Accra and he assumed office on October 1, 2026. He joined WAEC in 1998 after working as an examiner and has held several senior roles in test development, examinations security, post-examinations, zonal coordination and national administration.
