Group Calls for Immediate End to ASUU, SSANU and NASU Strike
The Peace and Social Advancement Centre has called for an immediate end to the industrial action that shut down higher education institutions across Nigeria from February 14, 2022. The group expressed concern over the prolonged dispute involving ASUU, SSANU and NASU. It said the continued closure of federal and state universities could disrupt students' learning, worsen brain drain and deepen economic hardship in university host communities. It urged the Federal Government and the unions to return to negotiations and reach an acceptable resolution. The group also asked the government to honour agreements with academic and non-academic unions to prevent future strikes.
