Was the Mama Put Owner Right to Refuse a Customer More Fufu?
After the rain in Ogun State, I stopped at my usual mama put spot for breakfast. While I ate jollof rice, plantain and meat, another customer ordered four wraps of fufu with soup. He finished them quickly, ordered two more, and then asked for another two. The owner refused, joking that she did not want him to harm himself in her restaurant. She asked him to pay for what he had already eaten and leave. The man insisted he would not pay unless she served him more food, and an argument followed. Some elderly men stepped in before he eventually paid. The owner maintained that she would not sell him any more food, despite his complaints. I can barely finish two wraps from that restaurant, so seeing someone finish six and still ask for more was surprising. Was the owner right to stop serving him, or should she have allowed him to buy as much as he wanted?
