15-Year-Old Arrested in Borno Over Killing of Brig.-Gen. Oseni Braimah
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East) under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 15-year-old suspect in Borno State. The teenager, identified as Tijjani, was detained at Ngamdu while on his way to buy food for his group. In a video released by the Nigerian Army, Tijjani confessed to participating in attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu. He said he left Jilli with ₦850,000 to collect logistics but was intercepted by troops. Brigadier-General Oseni Braimah, commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade, died in a fierce gun battle with insurgents in Kaga Local Government Area. Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters confirmed his death on April 10, along with two officers and two soldiers. Authorities have not yet issued a separate statement on Tijjani’s arrest.
