Your Heart as God’s Ground: Letting His Word Grow in You
In Genesis 1:11–12, God spoke and the earth brought forth seed-bearing plants. The seed worked with the ground to produce increase. In the same way, your heart is the ground and God’s Word is the seed. Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). When you speak God’s Word, you plant and water the seed in your heart. Your words carry spiritual power to bring what is hidden into manifestation (Luke 6:45; Matthew 17:20). God gives the increase, but He has entrusted you with the responsibility to plant and water. Hold fast to your confession of faith and speak His promises out loud (Romans 10:8). Your tongue holds life and death, so choose to speak life (Proverbs 18:21). If you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray and invite Him into your heart (Romans 10:9–10). All who believe on His name are given power to become children of God (John 1:12).
