Sokoto Police Kill Three Suspected Bandits in Midnight Gun Battle, Recover AK-47

Police in Sokoto State killed three suspected armed bandits after intercepting an attack on Bodinga Local Government Area. Responding to a distress call around 11pm, officers from the Violent Crime Response Unit and Anti-Kidnapping Unit engaged the assailants in a fierce gun duel. After the bandits fled into a nearby forest, security personnel discovered three bodies and recovered an AK-47 rifle with a 25-round magazine. No civilians or officers were injured during the operation. The Commissioner of Police has urged residents of Bodinga and neighbouring communities to report any suspicious persons, especially those with gunshot wounds, to the nearest security agency. Patrols have been intensified to prevent further attacks.
