Bashir El-Rufai has formally divorced Halima Nwakaego after five years of marriage. He announced during Eid on X that he’s now engaged to another woman. The former Kaduna governor’s son married Halima Nwakaego Kazaure, daughter of ex-Senator Ibrahim Kazaure, in November 2020. On social media he wrote, “I divorced my first wife; I have no time for Gen Z wahala.” Halima first sparked speculation when she publicly sided with singer Chike during the Frank and Sandra Edoho marriage crisis. She shared a photo of herself listening to Chike’s hit “If You No Love” and captioned it, “Chike dey for you.”
