US Denies IRGC Claims on Hormuz Shipping, F-35s and Oil Tanker
The United States has rejected three claims attributed to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) amid rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command said the main threat to commercial shipping comes from IRGC threats and attempted attacks, not from open transit routes through the strait. It also denied reports that Iranian attacks destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and other aircraft, saying no US aircraft were damaged. CENTCOM further disputed claims that the oil tanker M/T Nora had broken through a US blockade, stating that US naval and air operations remain active in the region.
