Imo Police Arrest Two Vigilantes Over Alleged Assault on Siblings in Okigwe
The Imo State Police Command has arrested two members of the Imo State Vigilante Organisation following a viral video showing the alleged assault of a young woman and her brother in Okigwe. The siblings were reportedly travelling to Abia State University when they had an altercation with armed men. The woman alleged that one of the men injured her lip during the incident. Police spokesperson SP Henry Okoye said the men in the video were vigilante operatives, not police officers. The suspects, Ejiogu Nchekwube and Caleb Onyebuchi, are being held at the Okigwe Divisional Police Headquarters as investigations continue. The command said anyone found responsible will be dealt with in line with the law.
