Ogun Governor Urges Church to Uphold Truth and Encourage Voter Registration
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has urged the Church to stand for truth, peace, and responsible citizenship ahead of the 2027 general election. He spoke at the opening of the 15th Synod of the Remo Anglican Diocese in Ikenne, praising the peaceful conduct of recent APC primaries in the state. The governor highlighted his administration’s success in reducing political violence compared to seven years ago. He announced the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, set to provide monthly cash support to 50,000–100,000 residents within the next year. He also reaffirmed plans to reconstruct the Sagamu–Ode Lemo Road. Archbishop Olusina Fape commended the governor for translating his development agenda into concrete projects. He cited the Gateway International Airport and the Light Up Ogun electricity initiative as key catalysts for trade, investment, and economic growth in the state.
