FCT Police Recover Rifles in Raid on Suspected Bandit Hideout
The FCT Police Command says it recovered two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition during a raid on a suspected bandit hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, between Plateau and Bauchi states. Police said the operation followed the July 11 arrest of four suspects accused of supplying arms, ammunition and illicit substances to bandits. Acting on information allegedly provided by one of the suspects, operatives traced the hideout on August 2. Investigators allege that the suspect sourced weapons from Rabiu Hassan and supplied them to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin believed to be hiding in a Katsina forest. The police said efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the network, recover more weapons and prosecute the suspects.
