NFF Could Receive $10m as FIFA Considers New Funding Plan
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has opened discussions on a proposal to distribute part of FIFA’s cash reserves to member associations. The proposal, backed by UEFA and CONCACAF leaders, seeks a one-off allocation of about $2.11 billion. Under the plan, each of FIFA’s 211 member associations, including the Nigeria Football Federation, could receive at least $10 million during the 2027–2030 cycle. Infantino said no amount has been approved yet. He has asked for detailed financial models before the FIFA Council considers the proposal on October 15, 2026. If approved, the funding could help the NFF improve facilities, strengthen refereeing, support national teams and settle coaches’ and players’ payments more reliably.
