Nigeria Open Golf Championship Set to Return in 2027 After 28-Year Hiatus

The Nigeria Open Golf Championship will return from November 16 to 20, 2027, ending a 28-year break since its last edition in 1999. The Nigeria Golf Federation said the tournament will build on new structures in Nigerian golf, including the World Handicap System, digital tools and youth development programmes. The event is expected to attract 150 to 200 elite golfers from more than 20 countries. Lakowe Lakes Golf Resort in Lagos is being considered as host. The planned four-day Pro-Am competition will carry world-ranking recognition and offer amateur players a route towards international golf circuits.
