Kaduna Mother and Son Killed by Bandits After Ransom Delivery
A woman from Bayan Dutse Narayi in Kaduna South was abducted by bandits in December 2025. Her captors demanded a ransom her family and neighbours could not fully pay. Her firstborn son, Joshua, gathered the funds he could raise and went to deliver them to secure her release. When he arrived, he found that his mother had already died in captivity. The kidnappers took the money, seized Joshua and reportedly tortured him to death. His widow and children are now grieving the loss of both husband and mother. This tragic case underscores the growing insecurity in Kaduna State. Community members are calling on the state government and security forces to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
