Troops Rescue Kidnap Victim, Kill Three Suspects in Edo Forest Operation

Nigerian Army troops have rescued a kidnap victim, Prince Michael Akao, during an early-morning operation in Sasaro Forest, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. The operation was carried out around 2 a.m. on Sunday after a tip-off. Troops of 195 Battalion, working with other security agencies, reportedly killed three suspected kidnappers and recovered three locally made guns, nine cartridges and other items. Akao was taken to hospital for treatment and is said to be responding well. The recovered weapons were handed to the DSS, while the bodies of the suspects were transferred to the police.
