Ekiti Police Sergeant Detained After Viral Video Shows Alleged Drug Influence

The Ekiti State Police Command has detained a sergeant caught on video acting erratically, apparently under the influence of drugs. Passersby restrained him outside the Ikole-Ekiti Division as he displayed violent and unstable behaviour. Command Spokesperson SP Abutu Sunday confirmed the officer’s identity and immediate detention. Commissioner of Police Falade Adegoroye Michael has ordered comprehensive medical and psychological evaluations before formal disciplinary proceedings. The police emphasised that the sergeant’s conduct breaches professional standards and does not reflect the values of the Nigeria Police Force.
