Roger Meddows Taylor is the English drummer, songwriter and backing vocalist best known as a founding member of Queen. Born on 26 July 1949 in King’s Lynn, England, he helped shape the band’s sound with his drumming, high backing vocals and songwriting. He wrote or co-wrote several Queen hits, including “Radio Ga Ga”, “A Kind of Magic”, “These Are the Days of Our Lives”, “Innuendo” and “The Invisible Man”. Outside Queen, Taylor released solo albums and led the rock band The Cross. Taylor has five children, including Rufus Taylor, drummer for The Darkness. He married Sarina Taylor in 2010 and continues to be associated with Queen’s live projects. Estimates of his net worth range from about $170 million to $250 million.
