Former UK Soldier Jailed for Plotting to Sexually Abuse Two Children
A former Household Cavalry soldier, Graham Jarvis, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempting to arrange the sexual abuse of a seven-year-old girl and a 10-month-old baby. The court heard that Jarvis believed he was communicating online with the children’s mother and was planning to travel from his London barracks to Wales. The supposed mother was in fact an undercover police officer. Jarvis was convicted on two counts of attempting to arrange a child sexual offence. The judge said his messages showed a cold and deliberate plan, adding that he posed an ongoing risk to children. He was dismissed from the Army and must serve at least eight years in custody before becoming eligible for release.
