Meta Introduces Camera-Free AI Glasses and Muse Personal Assistant
Meta has unveiled camera-free AI smart glasses designed for calls, music and voice-based AI features without the ability to take photos or record video. The glasses are due to begin shipping in October, starting at $349. The company also introduced Muse, an AI assistant it says can handle real-world tasks such as booking appointments, making calls and registering for services after users link relevant accounts. Meta also previewed new camera-equipped Ray-Ban smart glasses and a lighter mixed-reality headset expected in 2027. The announcements come as the company faces continuing scrutiny over privacy, hidden recordings and child-safety protections.
