Diaspora Nigerians Warned of Alleged Telegram Matchmaking Scam

Diaspora Nigerians Warned of Alleged Telegram Matchmaking Scam — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Nigerians abroad should be cautious of an alleged Telegram matchmaking scam operating under the name “International Match.” The channel claims to connect Nigerian men with women abroad for casual relationships, hookups, or sugar-dating arrangements. According to this account, the alleged operator charges about ₦115,000 upfront and then sends photos for users to choose from. After a selection is made, the person reportedly demands another payment through a different agent and may stop responding. A friend who experienced this reportedly used reverse-image search tools and found that some of the photos appeared to have been taken from unrelated social-media profiles. Users are advised to verify identities carefully, avoid sending money to unverified agents, and report suspected fraud to the platform and relevant authorities.
