Elijah kept telling Elisha that God has sent him to different places knowing fully well he could be taken anytime and if not for the insistence of Elisha he would probably have missed the anointing.

Was Elijah Reluctant In Transferring His Anointing To Elisha? Was He Selfish?

The South African Police Service (SAPS) announced on Monday, November 18 that it will give antiretroviral (ARV) medicine to illegal miners who refuse to resurface at the Stilfontein mining shaft in the North West.

Another X user, Cecilia, added to the conversation, saying elders have to go to clinic to get the ARVs, but “Criminals who don’t want to come out because they don’t want to be arrested are getting ARVs delivered to them. I hate this country”.

‘Mr.RightNow’ compared the doomed ‘Lily Mine Three’ mine workers whose bodies have been trapped underground since February 2016.

“The government failed to take immediate action to rescue Lily Three (mine collapse) but now they are showing effort to rescue the Zama Zamas by providing them with ARVs and food underground,” he said.

Another X user, K2, simply said that in a normal nation with rules and morality, the criminals within that mine would not have dared to pose demands like asking for food and ARVs.

Naledi claimed that the ARVs were not going to the mine to treat HIV. “We all learned long ago that ARVs form part of the ingredients to make nyaope (street drug). No one is sick down there, they’re just running out of drugs.”

LadyM1306 commented that South Africans are regarded as xenophobes, but that officials are happy to provide ARVs to criminals who refuse to comply with the law.

“On a serous note though, South Africans have tolerated way beyond reasonable. Zama zamas are in the country illegally, trapped in a mine illegally and for some odd reason, demand ARVs from the government that they are stealing minerals from and undermining its authority,” added Bekithemba Zulu.

An estimated 4,500 illegal miners are said to be trapped underground with little food and water since a police operation on October 18. The police insist the miners are free to resurface but will be arrested.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the payment of ₦70,000 as the new National Minimum Wage for all staff of the FCT Administration, News360 Nigeria reports.

This announcement was made by the Acting Head of the Civil Service of FCT, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, on Tuesday in Abuja, in a statement released by her Press Secretary, Ewhenji Anthony Odey.

In addition to the new wage, the Minister has also approved the payment of three months’ arrears for all staff, with payments set to begin in November 2024.

According to the Head of Service, “this gesture will further spur the entire staff of the Administration to support the Minister to continue to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Mrs. Adayilo equally thanked the Minister for always granting expeditious approval for payment of staff allowances and claims”, the statement added.

So, These people (Axis of Resistance) said enough is enough, and they stood up and said we will resist you. They are far more than that. It is an Axis of Freedom. These are the people trying their very best to ensure that freedom is foisted not just upon the Palestinians but the whole of the Middle East," he added.

Kayode continued: “That's what is going on there. People are saying enough is enough. Enough of the killing, enough of the butchery, enough of the genocide, enough of the holocaust, enough of the racism, enough of the establishment and actions of an apartheid state. They (Zionists) see Ashkenazi Jews, that's European Jews as being superior to everybody else. They are suppressing the Palestinians, the proper Jews of the land not those that came from far away. What the Axis of Resistance is doing is a noble thing." 

"The Zionists are suppressing everybody including Christians and Muslims with horrible vision. An evil vision of the establishment of the greater Israel whose border starts with the borders of Egypt and goes towards the borders of Iran. A tragic incident occurred in Ugwu Achara, a neighborhood in the capital city of Abakaliki, where four civilians were reportedly shot. The chaos unfolded after a confrontation between a military personnel and a team of mobile crack police officers. 

According to eyewitness accounts, the military personnel was riding a motorcycle when he was stopped by the team of police along the road. The officers demanded that he enter their Sienna vehicle, but the military personnel refused.

In an attempt to force him into the van, a violent struggle ensued. During this confrontation, one of the officers allegedly fired a warning shot in an attempt to intimidate the soldier. 

Tragically, the gunshot struck four civilians who were nearby, observing the escalating situation. 

Eyewitnesses described a scene of panic and confusion as the civilians, who were uninvolved in the altercation, became unintended victims of the gunfire. Upon realizing that there were casualties, the police officers reportedly attempted to flee the scene. This act further enraged local residents, who retaliated by throwing stones at the officers. Despite the villagers’ resistance, the officers managed to forcefully take the military personnel into their vehicle and drive off, abandoning his motorcycle at the scene. 

At the time of filing this report, the bodies of the casualties were reportedly still at the scene. Witnesses claim that one of the victims was confirmed dead on the spot, while the conditions of the other three remain uncertain. Efforts are ongoing to ascertain the status of the injured civilians. 

The incident has left the community in shock and anger, with questions arising about the conduct of the police officers involved. Local residents have called for an immediate investigation to ensure accountability and justice for the victims of the tragic event.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday presented a certificate of return to the winner of the Ondo State governorship election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami.
