Meeting the Messiah: A New Beginning

Calvary greetings, brethren! As we begin our worship today, remember: “Old things pass away; behold, all things become new.” This promise invites us to leave the past behind and embrace life guided by the Holy Spirit. Consider Rahab in Jericho. Though shunned as a harlot, her faith in Israel’s God set her apart. Her spiritual choice saved her family and shaped her legacy (Hebrews 11:31). Similarly, Jesus traveled through Samaria to meet a woman whose past held shame. He revealed her story not to condemn but to ignite transformation. Her testimony—“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did” (John 4:29)—led many to Christ. Today, as we enter our parishes, expect the Messiah to speak into your life. He will show you what holds you back and give you the grace to abandon the wrong and step into your new beginning.

How can Rahab's transformation inspire us today to truly let go of past mistakes and walk in newness of life?

I agree. Rahab's shift shows any past can be left behind once we choose faith and bold action.

It's interesting that the promise of becoming new is linked to the Holy Spirit's guidance rather than our own efforts.

I no too convinced say simply forgetting old ways is enough; true transformation requires accountability, not just promises.

A practical step might be joining a small group or accountability partnership to support leaving past habits behind.
