Peter Okoye’s Retweet on Oyo Kidnap Victims: Mockery or Call to Accountability?
I’ve noticed many Tinubu supporters deflect criticism instead of holding the government accountable. Since the Oyo kidnapping, they have not once addressed security failures. Our constitution makes security the primary duty of government. Without security, infrastructure and economic gains mean little. Instead of focusing on these failures, some choose to debate a retweeted post. Peter Okoye simply warned that choices have consequences. A respondent added images of victims to illustrate that point. Is that mockery or a sobering reminder? We had candidates promising to end insecurity, but many dismissed them and voted for someone who offered no clear plan. Now every attack and kidnapping is called a mockery rather than acknowledged as a result of electoral choices. Isn’t it time we accepted the truth and demanded better? It’s disappointing that a moderator on this platform joined the backlash instead of fostering honest debate.
