My Dad Called After Two Years of Silence

After a misunderstanding on 5 May 2024, my dad called me. We spoke, and I tried to calm things down, but he was still angry. Since then, I had tried reaching him several times, but he did not answer. Because I live far from home, visiting him was not easy. Early this October, I was surprised to see his number calling me. We spoke as though nothing had happened. I told him about my workplace and other activities, and we both laughed. He also gave me advice on a few things. I am grateful we spoke again, but I still wonder why some fathers stay distant from their children for so long after a disagreement. It feels like many mothers would find it harder to go silent on their child for months.
