Twenty-four contestants are representing African countries at the 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam. The competition began on 9 August and will end with the grand finale in Nha Trang on 5 September. The delegates have taken part in the sash ceremony, Top Model challenge, sports challenge and other pre-final events as they compete for a place in the Top 40. They include students, entrepreneurs, health professionals, models, advocates and creatives from across the continent. Nigeria is represented by Tamunosoye “Soye” Karibi-George, a Port Harcourt-based communications strategist, voice-over artist and model. Through her Beyond Labels initiative, she advocates inclusion and improved support for neurodivergent children and people with special needs. Other African representatives come from Botswana, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
