Bandits Kill Abuja Trader and Daughter Despite N12m Ransom Payment
On October 3, armed men invaded a home in Zhidu community, Niger State, and abducted trader Muhammad Shuaibu and his two daughters. The incident has shocked both Bwari Area Council and his market colleagues in Dei-Dei Modern Market. The kidnappers demanded N12 million in three installments. The family sold the businessman’s shop, his car, and a sachet water machine to raise funds. They paid N6 million, N4 million, and the final N2 million, but the captors still refused to release their victims. According to a family member who spoke anonymously to Daily Trust, Fatima was killed about three months into captivity. After the last ransom payment, the kidnappers claimed Shuaibu had also died in their care.
