Four Bases Overrun in a Week—Nigeria’s Air Force Went Silent
Air power wins or loses wars. We see it in Iran today, as the US and Israel bomb enemy positions to soften defenses before any ground invasion. In Nigeria, we remain embarrassed. After 22 years of fighting terror, our military still cannot identify or destroy a single Boko Haram camp. We only hear about bases being overrun or, on rare days, repelled. There is no follow-through. Attackers hit a base, we push them back, then we wait. Terrorists regroup and strike again—often with success. This cycle is shameful. Worst of all is our air force. Four bases fall in one week and not a single sortie is launched. Our expensive jets and helicopters sit idle. Every Nigerian should be ashamed.
