Nigerian Stock Market Adds ₦405bn as Bullish Run Continues

The Nigerian equities market ended Friday on a positive note, adding ₦405 billion to its market capitalisation as renewed buying interest lifted the total value to ₦159.558 trillion. The All-Share Index gained 604.22 points, or 0.25%, to close at 246,992.44. This pushed the market’s year-to-date return to 58.72%. Industrial and Medical Gases, Juli and University Press led the gainers. However, market breadth was negative, with 31 decliners against 26 gainers. Trading volume rose sharply to 2.24 billion shares, while Seplat Energy recorded the highest transaction value at ₦32.24 billion. The mixed performance shows that investor interest remains strong, although losses in several stocks continued to weigh on the broader market.
