NMA Raises Alarm Over Fake Drinks in Ondo, Urges Residents to Check Seals
The Nigerian Medical Association in Ondo State has warned residents about the alleged circulation of counterfeit and adulterated alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The association said the products may be found in markets, supermarkets, hotels, bars and other outlets. It warned that contaminated drinks could expose consumers to serious health problems, including acute poisoning, liver damage and kidney failure. The NMA urged regulatory agencies to inspect suspected outlets, seize unsafe products and prosecute those responsible. Residents were advised to avoid unusually cheap drinks, check seals and packaging carefully, and report suspicious products to the authorities.
