Hanan Buhari Dedicates Peace Icon Award to Her Late Father

Hanan Buhari received the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa award at a leadership summit in Marrakech. She honoured her late father, former President Muhammadu Buhari, as the foundation of her values, confidence and commitment to service. The summit, organised by the DAVDAN Peace and Advocacy Foundation, brought together leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and influencers from across Africa to celebrate contributions to peacebuilding, leadership and sustainable development. On receiving her award, Hanan Buhari expressed gratitude to the organisers and paid an emotional tribute to her father. She highlighted his lessons in integrity, resilience and selfless service and pledged to uphold these values through her work empowering women. The colourful ceremony at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès also recognised other prominent African changemakers and hosted ambassadors, diplomats and development partners.
