Akwa Ibom Commissioner Renovates 12-Classroom Primary School in Uruan
Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, General Koko Essien (Rtd.), has renovated the two-block, 12-classroom AME Zion Primary School in Ndon Ebom, Uruan Local Government Area. The school, founded in 1936, was formally handed over on September 18 after its facilities were upgraded from a deteriorating state. Essien, an alumnus of the school, said the project was his personal contribution to improving education in his community. At the handover, the state education commissioner commended the intervention, while the College of Commissioners announced plans to provide a solar-powered borehole for the school. Community leaders and school authorities pledged to maintain the facilities.
