Solomon Buchi Questions Gun Access After Six-Year-Old Shot Teacher

Commentator Solomon Buchi has criticised the parenting failures surrounding a 2023 school shooting in Virginia, where a six-year-old boy shot his first-grade teacher, Abby Zwerner, with his mother’s handgun. The boy’s mother, Deja Taylor, had linked some of his behaviour to ADHD and said he felt ignored by his teacher. Buchi argued that the diagnosis did not explain how a child gained access to a loaded firearm. Investigators said the boy took the handgun from his mother’s purse at home and brought it to school. Taylor later pleaded guilty to felony child neglect in connection with the case. Zwerner survived serious injuries.
