Death, Judgment and the Need to Be Prepared
Hebrews 9:27 reminds us that everyone will die once and face judgment afterwards. Death does not give notice, and no one knows the day or time it will come. The central concern is not death itself, but dying without Christ and remaining in sin. Wealth, education, success and earthly connections may be valuable, but they cannot replace a right relationship with God. The Bible warns against allowing temporary pleasures such as fornication, adultery, pornography, bitterness, envy and drunkenness to take control of our lives. While we are alive, there is an opportunity to repent and turn back to God. Life is brief, but eternity is lasting. We should examine how we live today and be spiritually prepared for the day we stand before God.
