Kogi West Delegation Explains Walkout From Kogi East Alliance Talks
A Kogi West political leader has said the district’s delegation walked out of talks with Kogi East over a proposed alliance for the 2027 governorship election. Speaking anonymously, he alleged that the proposals presented at the meeting would leave Kogi West at a disadvantage and ultimately hand power to Kogi East. He said Kogi West would not accept an arrangement that does not give it a clear path to producing the next governor. The leader said Kogi West remains open to discussions with Kogi Central and other political interests. He added that zoning, power rotation and the terms of possible alliances will shape political negotiations in the state ahead of 2027.
