FMC Nguru Medical Director Loses Twin Daughters Two Days Apart
Professor Hadiza Abdullahi Usman, Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, has lost her twin daughters, Dr Hadiyah Usman Abdullahi and pharmacist Aidah Usman Abdullahi, within two days. Hadiyah died on October 2, 2026, after complications from sickle cell disease following about a week of treatment at FMC Nguru. Her sister, Aidah, had reportedly been treated at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and discharged. Aidah attended Hadiyah’s burial and later visited her sister’s grave. She reportedly collapsed afterwards and was rushed to hospital, where she died on October 4. FMC Nguru confirmed her death.
