Suspect Admits Stabbing Fellow Okada Rider to Death Over 4-Year-Old Grudge
Osun State homicide detectives have arrested a motorcycle rider, Adedayo, for allegedly murdering his colleague, Tiamiyu Afeez, and stealing his bike in February. Afeez’s family reported him missing after he left home for work. His body, found along Ojo/Ara Ejigbo Road with a slit throat, prompted a full investigation. Intelligence-led detectives from the SCID Homicide Section apprehended Adedayo on April 18. During questioning, he confessed that four years ago Afeez accused him of being a ritualist and had his phones and money seized. He vowed revenge. According to his confession, he lured Afeez on a secluded bush road during Ramadan, slit his throat with a hidden knife, and made off with the motorcycle. Afraid of detection, he abandoned the bike with an associate’s wife. The suspect has pleaded for mercy, admitting his crime was driven by anger. The police spokesperson says Adedayo will be arraigned after investigations conclude.
