Redeemer’s Health Village Launches Africa’s First Robotic Surgery Training Academy
Redeemer’s Health Village has commissioned the RHV–Robomed Robotics Academy, described as Africa’s first robotic surgery training academy. The initiative was launched by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa. The academy was established through a partnership involving Redeemer’s Health Village, Robomed Global, Redeemer’s University and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. It will offer structured robotic-surgery training and certification for African surgeons. The programme is recognised as a postgraduate course in Nigeria, reducing the need for doctors to travel outside the continent for certification. Applications are expected to open in January 2027.
