US Aircraft Damaged in Reported Iranian Strike on Jordan Airbase
US media reports that several American military aircraft were damaged during Iranian strikes on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Al Azraq, Jordan, early Wednesday. According to CBS, about eight F-15 aircraft sustained light damage and later returned to service. An A-10 Thunderbolt II, known as the Warthog, was reportedly hit and lost a wing. The strikes were said to be part of Iran’s retaliation after the US reportedly targeted five Iranian oil tankers. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard also claimed attacks on tankers, warships and the Jordan airbase. US forces reportedly launched more than 30 Patriot missiles in response.
