Angry Parents List 36 Children Still Missing After Lassa School Attack

Tension rose in Lassa community, Askira-Uba LGA of Borno State, after suspected ISWAP militants stormed Government Day Secondary School during NECO exams. At least two teachers were killed and many students abducted. On Tuesday, parents registered the names of 36 unaccounted students as frustration boiled over when the state government’s delegation, led by the Commissioner for Education, visited. Protesters chased out the team, chanting that they only want their children returned, not speeches. Families like Mbula Bura and Emmanuel Dari say their daughters remain missing, with conflicting rescue reports heightening anxiety. The military rescued ten victims under Operation Hadin Kai, but the exact number of abductees is still under review. The state government has closed schools in Lassa, Dille and Chul. Officials say efforts continue to secure the safe return of all students.
