Open Letter to Governor Makinde: Reject a 72-Year-Old’s Bid for Ibarapa North Chairmanship
Your Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, We write as concerned PDP stakeholders in Ibarapa North to urge you to reconsider any support for Hon. Peter Ojedokun Gbadegesin’s bid for Local Government Chairman. At 72, his record in the State Assembly shows limited impact and he struggles to represent his constituency effectively. Under your leadership, our state has set a new standard for youth inclusion in governance. You gave us Nigeria’s youngest Commissioner at 27 and the youngest Speaker at 32. It would be a setback to return to outdated practices that ignore competence and the energy of younger leaders. We appeal to Your Excellency to call Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin to order and allow Ibarapa North party leaders to choose a capable, younger candidate. This will preserve the stability and progressive vision you have championed for Oyo State. Yours sincerely, Concerned Stakeholders of Ibarapa North
