Rivers Man Arrested After Allegedly Beating Girlfriend to Death Over Infidelity Claims

On Saturday, July 11, police in Rivers State arrested 30-year-old Richard Emmanuel after his girlfriend, Caroline Sunday, died following a domestic dispute in Eneka community, Obio/Akpor LGA. Neighbours say the argument began when Emmanuel accused Sunday of infidelity. During the fight, he allegedly pushed her against a wall, causing a fatal head injury. Residents found her bleeding and tried to revive her, but she was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Officers from the Eneka Police Division arrived and arrested Emmanuel at the scene. The state police spokesperson confirmed Emmanuel is now held at the Port Harcourt Criminal Investigation Department pending further investigation and arraignment.
