Nigerian Embassy in Qatar Delivers 751 Passports Within Two Weeks
The Nigerian Embassy in Doha has delivered 751 newly produced passports to applicants who took part in its passport intervention exercise held from August 11 to 21. Distribution began on September 18, about two weeks after biometric capture. The applications included 441 five-year passports and 310 ten-year passports. The embassy said the quicker turnaround will help Nigerians in Qatar who need passports for travel, employment, residency and other official documentation. Passport intervention exercises by the Nigeria Immigration Service are designed to clear backlogs for new applications, renewals and pending cases. More than 5,000 applicants have also enrolled in an ongoing passport intervention exercise in the United Kingdom.
