Lagos Police Crack Down on Human Parts Syndicate Behind Ritual ‘Black Soap’
Lagos State Police have arrested four suspects aged 34 to 48 in connection with the alleged possession and sale of human body parts for ritual purposes. According to police sources, the main suspect was stopped during a routine search on Lagos Island and found carrying decomposing remains. He admitted to retrieving bodies from abandoned sites, dismembering them, and selling parts for as little as ₦10,000. He also confessed that some remains were used in making so-called black soap marketed for spiritual favors. Following his statement, three accomplices were apprehended. Investigators say the suspects revealed a wider network still at large. The case has been transferred to the State CID for further probing, and the recovered remains are now in a morgue pending court proceedings. Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity as they intensify efforts to dismantle these dangerous criminal networks.
