Nigeria’s Flamingos maintained their perfect start at the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso. The result gave the team nine points from three matches. Nigeria controlled possession and created early chances but found it difficult to break through Burkina Faso’s organised defence. Mary Dunstan opened the scoring eight minutes from time, while Oluwakemi Adegbuyi added a second goal in stoppage time. Coach Akeem Busari praised his players for remaining patient. He said Burkina Faso’s deep defensive approach made the match difficult, but Nigeria took advantage after the opening goal forced their opponents to come forward.
