Tragedy in Benue: Three Siblings Abducted While Escorting Mother’s Remains

A family transporting their late mother’s body from Abuja to Iklenyi in Okpokwu LGA, Benue State, was attacked by suspected armed herdsmen in the early hours along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road. The vehicle broke down between Omutele and Ankpechi communities, delaying the journey until about 2am. After repairs, the siblings resumed but were ambushed and taken into the bush along with their mother’s corpse. Ohimini Local Government chairman has confirmed the incident and is heading to the scene. Relatives are appealing to security agencies for urgent action to rescue the children and recover the remains.
