DHS Condemns ‘Pure Evil’ Killing of Staffer by Nigerian Man in Georgia
The US Department of Homeland Security has described the random attack that left one of its employees dead as ‘pure evil.’ Officials say 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel is accused of murdering 40-year-old Lauren Bullis in DeKalb County, Georgia. Bullis, an auditor with the DHS Office of Inspector General, was walking her dog early Monday when she was shot and stabbed. Hours earlier, Abel allegedly shot a woman outside a fast-food restaurant and wounded a homeless man near a supermarket. Both victims remain unnamed; the homeless man is in critical condition. Authorities identified Abel’s vehicle through surveillance and arrested him during a traffic stop. His criminal history includes convictions for sexual battery, assault on an officer, obstruction and vandalism. Abel now faces two counts of murder, aggravated assault and multiple firearm charges. Investigators are still probing his motive and have extended their condolences to the victims’ families.
